Bhimtal is 19 kilometers from Kathgodam railway station.
Kathgodam is eight hours of train run from Sarai Rohella in Old Delhi. There is a choice of two trains.
Night train, Ranikhet Express, which leaves Delhi at 10.50 p.m. to reach Kathgodam at 6.15 a.m. next morning. For return departure time is 8.40 p.m. from Kathgodam to reach Delhi by 4.30 a.m..
The day train, Sampark Kranti, leaves Delhi at 3.30 p.m. to reach Kathgodam by 10.30 p.m. the same night. For return departure time is 8.50 a.m. from Kathgodam to reach Delhi by 4.00 p.m.
By road:
Alternately one can drive from Delhi directly in about seven hours covering a distance of app. 300 kilometers.
